Next week is Christmas and we will all hopefully be sitting down at the table with our loved ones to celebrate with a delicious, festive meal. The table will be adorned with beautiful food and surrounded by sparkling conversation and jokes all afternoon, so you can make it extra special by decorating the table. Today we’re sharing some of your favourite Christmas table decor ideas.
We couldn’t possibly talk about Christmas table decor without mentioning candles, now could we? Candles are the easiest and one of the most beautiful ways to decorate your home this Christmas. Some very easy table centerpiece ideas include a collection of taper or pillar candles of different heights displayed in the center of the table. You could also display a beautiful glass bowl filled with floating candles, or place a long plate of votive candles and surround it with beautiful greenery or fruit. Cinnamon sticks and candied fruit will give off a beautiful scent when they are near the heat of the candles. Of course, with any candle displays, please ensure you are being safe and that none of the candles can be easily knocked over or catch on any materials. Have a candle snuffer handy to avoid the smell of smoke when you blow them out afterwards, and if you’re using a special tablecloth, make sure you have wax paper or a container underneath so that it doesn’t get destroyed with melted wax.
A garland of evergreen branches or even a wreath placed in the centre of the table will always look festive and beautiful. Spruce it up with soft red or gold ribbons, scented pine cones and nuts, and if the branches are in oasis you could even place some candles or LED lights for some added sparkle.
Who says it has to be all about the red and green? Display a beautiful bouquet of flowers in the centre of the table, but ensure they are not so high that you and your guests can’t see each other over them. Depending on the colour of the flowers, you could match in your napkins and plates to theme your Christmas table.
We all have boxes of extra baubles and ornaments lying around that have been collected down through the years, so make use of them and display colourful glass and glittery baubles on a platter or inn a glass bowl in the centre of your table. Place a string of led fairy lights among the baubles to really make them glisten.
