Halloween is just over two weeks away, and although it may not seem like the most ‘romantic’ of themes, a Halloween style wedding can look absolutely amazing for those tying the knot around this time! You would be surprised how many fans of scary movies, haunted houses and ghost stories just love the idea of a Halloween themed wedding. Don’t worry – it doesn’t need to be ostentatious or tacky – your Halloween wedding can be really elegant and inspired. Today we’re talking about our favourite Halloween wedding inspiration.
Autumnal Food & Drink
Take your cues from the season that’s in it and choose lots of great fresh, in-season ingredients for your wedding meal. Spicy, roasted pumpkin or squash soup will be the perfect warmer-upper as we head into the winter. Greet your guests with hot spiced apple cider on arrival, and serve candied apple treats.
Use pumpkins as a feature of your decor – no need to carve spooky faces into them, but you can still use them as great lanterns for some beautiful candlelight. Cover smaller pumpkins in black lace for a really elegant look, or spray paint them in gold, silver and copper for an added touch of sparkle. Use as centrepieces or just scattered throughout your venue for a spooky touch.
Theme It Up
If you and your partner are big fans of scary movies, why not theme your wedding around it with tables named after your favourite movies? You could even add this into your overall stationery theme with invitations, place cards and menus.
Dresses & Suits
A really daring bride could add touches of black to her outfit or even go all out and wear a full black gown. Dress bridesmaids in elegant black and let a hint of Halloween peek out by having the groom and groomsmen wear cheeky black and orange striped socks under their suits!
